Book Club

So it appears I will be hosting the next book club. Which is exciting because that means I get to choose the book we read. Here is the list of books that I have come across that I think sound interesting...

The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards.

This book was recommended to me by my loverly sister, Brenna. It's about a lady who gives birth to twins, a boy and a girl. The girl has downs, and her father (who happened to be the doctor who assisted his wife in child birth) gives the daughter away and tells the mother she died.

The Road by Cormac McCarthy

This books sounds dark and depressing. But it is almost October, Halloween's month, so I think it also sounds appropriate. And really interesting. It's about an un named man and his son who survive in a post-apocalyptic world where people turn to cannibals. Ooer.

The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory

About the two Boleyn sister's who compete for Henry VIII's affection. This novel is also being made into a film starring Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman:

The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls

About a girl and her siblings who are raised by two essentric parents. And I guess are homeless for a while.

Please let me know what your opinion is in my comments. I'm torn between all these books.

I vote for the Memory Keepers Daughter (and can I borrow it when you're done?)
